1. About these terms

Welcome to Maka Tipping (the “app”, “we”, “us”). These terms set out the agreement between you and Maka Tipping when you create an account or use the app. By signing up or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Maka Tipping is operated from Australia. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and you agree that any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Australia.

2. What Maka Tipping is

Maka Tipping is a free, social tipping app for MMA fans. You pick winners of UFC fights, compare results with friends in groups, and climb leaderboards across the season.

Maka Tipping is for entertainment only. There is no entry fee, no prize pool, no payouts, and no real money or anything of monetary value at stake. Maka Tipping is not a gambling, betting or wagering service. We are not affiliated with the UFC, Zuffa LLC, or any fighter, promoter or broadcaster.

3. Your account

To submit picks you need an account. You can sign up with an email address or with Google sign-in. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under 18, you should have a parent or guardian read these terms with you.

You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens on your account. Please choose a username that isn’t offensive, doesn’t impersonate someone else, and doesn’t infringe anyone’s rights. We may rename or remove usernames that breach these terms.

4. Acceptable use

When using Maka Tipping, please don’t:

• post abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful or unlawful content in groups, forums or profile fields
• impersonate another person or pretend to be affiliated with the UFC, a fighter or Maka Tipping
• scrape, copy or republish data from the app for commercial use without permission
• try to break, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, its servers, or other users’ accounts
• use the app to run paid tipping competitions, syndicates or any kind of betting service

We may suspend or close any account that breaches these rules, with or without notice. Where it’s reasonable to do so, we’ll let you know why.

5. Groups and content you post

Group commissioners can rename their group, regenerate invite codes, approve or deny join requests, remove members and disband the group. Commissioners are responsible for moderating their own group’s name and members.

You keep ownership of any content you post (group names, profile info, forum posts). By posting it, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content as part of running the app.

6. Fight data and results

We do our best to keep event schedules, fight cards and results accurate, but we rely on third-party sources and these can change at short notice. We don’t guarantee that fights, fighters, results or scoring will always be correct or up to date. Picks lock 2 minutes before the scheduled event start time.

7. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using Maka Tipping you agree to the way we collect and use your information as described in that policy.

8. Our liability

Maka Tipping comes with guarantees that can’t be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

Beyond those rights, the app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for any loss or damage caused by app downtime, lost picks, scoring errors, content posted by other users, or anything else outside our reasonable control. Because the app is free and for entertainment only, you accept that there is no monetary value attached to your picks, points, leaderboard position or in-app status.

9. Closing your account

You can stop using Maka Tipping at any time. To delete your account and personal information, contact us using the details below. We may also close inactive accounts and remove old picks data after long periods of inactivity.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the app grows. If we make a material change we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where reasonable, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Maka Tipping after a change means you accept the updated terms.
